My parents have always been fascinated with plants. My step father knows most trees and plants by name, and scientific names! They would collect unique plants and seeds everywhere they went. We moved quite a lot, but the plants always followed. My step father is a carpenter. Wood and plants was part of our family for as long as I can remember. We spent days wondering plantations or forests and they always found discovered something new and beautiful. My own fascination with plants only developed much later – I was too busy surfing, travelling, getting married, having 4 kids. I guess it all started when I smelt a natural perfume for the first time. I couldn’t fathom that nature could smell so good. I can’t even remember the oils used, but I knew I wanted to find out more. I did research and inspired by my friend Heidi Steck, started to investigate and explore indigenous plants. I made my own perfume and soon my own hand wash and then the rest followed.
Now, I guess it took the scenic route but the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
