KEY BOTANICALS
Buchu (Agathosma betulina) Indigenous to the fynbos of the Western Cape and one of southern Africa's most celebrated medicinal plants. Powerfully antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory — it clears, calms, and protects skin that has been exposed to the accumulated stresses of the day. Its scent is sharp, minty, and unmistakably of the Cape.
Cape Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) Native to the Cape region and used for centuries as a natural skin tonic. Tightens, tones, and purifies while calming redness and inflammation. Its rose-adjacent fragrance is one of the most recognised botanical scents in the world — and one of the most useful to the skin.
African Lemon Bush (Lippia javanica) An indigenous shrub whose bright citrus clarity soothes minor irritations, repels insects naturally, and lifts the sensory experience of the entire ritual. A plant that the skin and the senses respond to equally.

RITUAL
Wash — Apply a small amount to damp skin and work into a gentle lather on the face, hands, or body. Inhale the botanical aroma as it rises with the water. Rinse thoroughly.
Lotion — Apply immediately after cleansing to skin that is still slightly warm. Work a small amount between the palms and press into the skin — face first, then hands and body. The lotion absorbs quickly and completely. No residue. No waiting.

PROVENANCE NOTE
Buchu was so valued by early Cape traders that it was being exported to Europe by the mid-seventeenth century — a plant the Khoisan had understood for generations, now recognised by a wider world. Cape Geranium followed a similar path, its oil becoming a prized ingredient in European perfumery and medicine while continuing to be used at the Cape for exactly the purposes it had always served. African Lemon Bush — bright, protective, and distinctly of this continent — was carried by indigenous healers as both remedy and ritual plant, its leaves bruised and inhaled to clear the head and steady the body.
